02/25/2015
This workshop will be designed for all learners, teachers, students and administration. It is recommended that a district send a team consisting of at least one adult learner(teacher, instructional coach, curriculum coordinator, administrator, technology coach, etc.) and at least two, and no more than four, students (grades 7-12). A screencast is a digital video and audio recording of what occurs on a presenter's computer screen, and it can be used to create sophisticated, information-rich multimedia presentations. Screencasting can be integrated across curriculum and into a plethora of learning activities. Screencasts are an effective instructional format that can be used for tutorials, demonstrations, digital storytelling, and narrated PowerPoint presentations, integrating photos, media, and more. The workshop will be designed to educate and empower Teachers and Students in your district. All participants will receive an introduction to the SAMR model and learn how screencasting can be used at each level; learn about various screencasting tools available for different devices; meet teachers and students currently using screencasting in their school; learn the skills essential for screencasting; plan a screencast; and apply skills to create a screencast.
In order to fully participate in this learning experience, all participants should bring a mobile device or laptop to the workshop for students and teachers, and have the ability to download applications and programs onto your device.
