The BLaST Assessment Consortium has developed a series of Math and Reading Benchmark Assessments for grades 1 through 11 to be used to assess student readiness for PSSA testing.

In Math, there are three forms of the assessment for each grade level. Each form is composed of multiple-choice and open-ended questions aligned with the Assessment Anchors. Each test is designed to be administered in one class period.

A Student Answer Sheet (bubble-form style) and Teacher’s Answer Key are included.

In Reading, there are two forms of the assessment for each grade level. Each form is composed of multiple-choice and open-ended questions aligned with the Assessment Anchors. Each test is designed to be administered in one class period.

A Student Answer Sheet (bubble-form style), Teacher’s Answer Key and Rubric for the open-ended items are also included.

This Fall (2006), BLaST will also be offering Assessment Consortium members access to an on-line test bank from which they can choose items to compile their own customized assessments. All items in the test bank are aligned to Standards and Assessment Anchors. The test bank will have both multiple-choice and open-ended items. Initially, the test bank will include Math items only.
