06/04/2020School Wide Information System or SWIS Suite is a reliable, confidential, web-based information system to collect, summarize, and use student behavior data for decision making. This data assists our PBIS teams to make more effective and efficient decisions when they have the right data in the right form at the right time. SWIS provides school personnel with the information they need to be successful decision makers. The SWIS Suite has assisted teams to improve their internal decision making and overall support plan design for individual students and their families. This training details the universal SWIS application to record and monitor office discipline referrals and make data based decisions to implement their School Wide Positive Behavior Support System. Teams purchasing the SWIS system will learn how to implement, monitor and utilize the data to implement PBIS with fidelity.

06/04/2020Question, Persuade, Refer (QPR) is a 1-2 hour interactive, best practices and evidence-based training to help guide a person on how to ask the suicide question, persuade the person to get help, and then him/her to appropriate professionals. QPR is an educational program designed to teach lay and professional "gatekeepers" the warning signs of a suicide crisis and how to respond.

06/11/2020Students with Autism typically struggle with maintaining attention in both home and school. Many students with Autism also struggle with transition both at school and home. This session will discuss and give helpful strategies in attending for longer periods of time. The session will also discuss ways of helping transition students back to the school environment after a longer than usual time at home.

06/11/2020The Indicator 13: Successful Practices in Secondary Transition training is designed specifically for Special Education Teachers and Administrators who service students, age 14 or older, that are engaged in the Secondary Transition process. Participants will learn what constitutes an effective transition program and how to write an IEP that includes coordinated, measurable annual goals and transition services, thus enabling students to meet their post-secondary goals after graduation from High School. Participants will also be given tools which will allow them to critically review IEPs for compliance and effective Secondary Transition practices. Objectives Participants will be able to: - Describe what constitutes an effective transition program - Review IEPs for compliance and effective secondary transition practices Participants are asked to bring a current IEP for a student on their caseload, age 14 or older. 06/12/2020AM: Ready to take the dive into Computer Science? This session will give you an overview of Computer Science in our PA and explain Computer Science beyond the coding. You will leave with a toolbox of activities to do you in your classroom, no matter the content, to enhance the computer science experience for your students. PM: A Self-Organized Learning Environment, or SOLE, can exist anywhere there is a computer, internet connection, and students who are ready to learn. Within a SOLE, students are given the freedom to learn collaboratively using the internet. SOLE sessions are characterized by discovery, sharing, spontaneity and limited teacher intervention. Every SOLE session activates the learners’ creativity, requires critical thinking, and refines communication skills. You will get access to free tools to implement SOLE in your classroom and find out how to earn free CEUs.

06/16/2020CS First is Google's free, introductory computer science program for grades 4-8 (ages 9-14). This video-based curriculum teaches students foundational CS, problem-solving and collaboration skills through themes related to students’ interests. In this hands-on professional development workshop, teachers will learn how to use CS First, Google’s free ready-to-teach introductory computer science (CS) curriculum for elementary and middle school students. During the three-hour workshop, teachers will: • Review the CS First curriculum • Test drive a CS First class from a student and teacher perspective • Develop a plan of action for teaching CS First in their classrooms Most importantly, teachers will join the growing community of CS First educators from around the world.

06/16/2020The showcase will provide district and school administrators and trauma-informed team members the opportunity to experience evidence-based approaches and strategies in building trauma-informed practices in schools. Sessions will include: PBIS/MTSS models, understanding adverse childhood experiences, brain architecture, equity and family engagement, among other topics. The showcase intends to provide teams with first-look opportunities which will then build the final required step of the Model Trauma-Model Approach Plan which is Selecting Professional Development and Training.
