Beginning in the 2017-18 school year, school entities will report student-level data for the Career Readiness Indicator in PIMS. Our featured presenters are Dana Vermilya and Christine Bear, speech-language pathologists & assistive technology consultants. Participants will gain a better understanding of supports that are available for students with assistive technology needs related to writing, what accommodations are allowable for state testing, and participate in a make and take activity. Each member district should send at least one person, but additional team members are welcome. We will spend time looking at best practices in eLearning, success stories, and practical tips to get the most out of the systems we all use on a daily basis. It is a time to meet up with like-minded professionals from surrounding districts, find solutions to problems, and develop a network that can be relied on throughout the school year. This In-Service begins at 9:00 AM and ends at 1:00 PM. Registration begins at 8:30 AM. Morning beverages, lunch and materials are supplied. Participants should come prepared and willing to demonstrate mastery of each competency. Participants will recertify on verbal and physical de-escalation techniques. Various therapeutic holds will be demonstrated and practiced.
