Topics for sequential networking meetings will be developed by the participants from a needs based poll and then developed by the presenters. AM topics will consist of instructional techniques for engagement, comprehension, communication, behavior, and levels of complexity based on Bloom and Webb taxonomies. | 05/05/2019 | 05/06/2019 | 05/07/2019(1 event)8:00 am: Question, Persuade, Refer for Suicide Prevention Train the Trainer Training 8:00 am - 4:00 pm 2400 Reach Road Williamsport, PA 17701 USA 570-323-8561 Free QPR Train-the-Trainer, sponsored by the Garrett Lee Smith Youth Suicide Prevention Initiative of the Department of Human Services, Office of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services, Bureau of Children’s Behavioral Health. Question, Persuade, Refer (QPR) is a 1-2 hour interactive, best practices and evidence-based training to help guide a person on how to ask the suicide question, persuade the person to get help, and then him/her to appropriate professionals. QPR is an educational program designed to teach lay and professional "gatekeepers" the warning signs of a suicide crisis and how to respond. This training can be used with educators (to help meet Act 71 requirements), parents, and students. Who Should Attend:

The Innovation & Technology Collaborative (ITC) is a network of educators and administrators interested in implementing 21st Century approaches to transform teaching and learning. Our Professional Learning Focus for 2018-19 will be: “Growing a Culture of Innovation.” We will be using George Couros’ book, The Innovator’s Mindset, for our discussions around “Growing a Culture of Innovation” in our districts, classrooms and communities. Each member district should send at least one person, but additional team members are welcome. We will spend time looking at best practices in eLearning, success stories, and practical tips to get the most out of the systems we all use on a daily basis. It is a time to meet up with like-minded professionals from surrounding districts, find solutions to problems, and develop a network that can be relied on throughout the school year. This In-Service begins at 9:00 AM and ends at 1:00 PM. Registration begins at 8:30 AM. Morning beverages, lunch and materials are supplied.
