This data assists our PBIS teams to make more effective and efficient decisions when they have the right data in the right form at the right time. SWIS provides school personnel with the information they need to be successful decision makers. The SWIS Suite has assisted teams to improve their internal decision making and overall support plan design for individual students and their families. This training details the universal SWIS application to record and monitor office discipline referrals and make data based decisions to implement their School Wide Positive Behavior Support System. This online introduction will detail the four components and how a teacher might check and connect with students using a remote environment. Check and Connect is a comprehensive intervention designed to improve student engagement at school and with learning for marginalized, disengaged students in grades K-12, through relationship building, problem solving and capacity building, and persistence. This video-based curriculum teaches students foundational CS, problem-solving and collaboration skills through themes related to students’ interests. In this hands-on professional development workshop, teachers will learn how to use CS First, Google’s free ready-to-teach introductory computer science (CS) curriculum for elementary and middle school students. During the three-hour workshop, teachers will: • Review the CS First curriculum • Test drive a CS First class from a student and teacher perspective • Develop a plan of action for teaching CS First in their classrooms Most importantly, teachers will join the growing community of CS First educators from around the world. Teachers are working hard but need literacy-specific tools and training to impact student outcomes and change this statistic. This presentation, which uses information from Scarborough's Reading Rope, will help literacy educators "learn the Rope" to teach reading. Educational Consultant Erin Hamilton will discuss blended learning approaches, online resources, and other tools designed to make teachers more effective and efficient in reading instruction. Participants will explore the various strands of the 'Rope' and will demystify common misunderstandings while sharing best practices. QPR is an educational program designed to teach lay and professional "gatekeepers" the warning signs of a suicide crisis and how to respond.
