03/13/2024The Science of Reading has opened our eyes to new practices in literacy education, but what about the Science of Writing? Through this course, participants will focus on utilizing the strands of Joan Sedita’s The Writing Rope to provide a framework for writing instruction, as well as gain practical strategies from The Writing Revolution to implement in classrooms immediately.

03/14/2024This 8-week introductory course will focus on the expressive and receptive skills of ASL. Topics in the course include: basic sign vocabulary, facial expression, fingerspelling, numbers, communication tips, and the importance of gestures. After completing this course, the participant will have a better understanding of Deaf Culture. “Hands-on” work, small group activities, and games will provide confidence to use ASL with the Deaf Community.
