10/01/2020To enhance your Pennsylvania Institute for Instructional Coaching (PIIC) join us for PIIC PLUS! To continue growing our coaching best practices, participants will fill their coaching bucket with 'virtual' visits of different coaching districts. At each district, coaches will focus on one of the four elements of coaching including one-on-one and small group coaching, analyzing data, using evidenced-based literacy/instructional strategies and strategies to promote reflection. The showcase will focus on the process of coaching and is applicable to all identified PIIC coaches; however, it is also applicable to PreK-12 teacher leaders, instructional coaches, department chairs, curriculum coordinators and principals. When registering with payment, the participant is purchasing the bundle, which consists of three showcases. If an event occurs and the participant is unable to attend, please let Rebecca Gibboney (rgibboney@iu13.org) know in advance for planning purposes. When purchasing the PIIC PLUS bundle the Instructional Coach will also receive the Summer 'PIICnic' retreat, Coaching Workshops, State Action Plans, one on-site Mentor visit (3/district max), coffee with Coach (once a quarter), Eduprotocol strategies, amd a copy of 'The Happiness Project' by Gretchen Rubin!

10/13/2020School to Workforce Connections ~ A Cultural Shift Principal and Teacher Training The Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE) is pleased to announce the two hour ZOOM train-the-trainer boot camp (Act 48) designed to assist districts in meeting the statewide postsecondary attainment 2025 goal of 60 percent of Pennsylvanians with a postsecondary credential, certificate, or degree. Training will be provided by the Career Readiness State Training (CRST) team and will include the following: • Career Readiness and Workforce in PA (Career Education and Work Standards) • Industry-Based Learning • Stakeholder and Workforce Partnerships • Classroom and Workforce Alignment • Supporting Resources District training teams should include a minimum of three and no more than ten K-12 educators. The lead team member should be a building principal or assistant principal. With an emphasis on classroom alignment to workforce needs, team composition should include teachers from both elementary and secondary. The goal of this training is the development of an action plan that utilizes stakeholder and workforce partnerships to expand the classroom to career connections and build school wide momentum for career readiness. Team members will be poised to provide support in the implementation of the action plan

10/23/2020This Professional Learning Opportunity for K-12 School Counselors will occur three times a year. The cohort package is intended for the consistent attendance of a school counselor for all three sessions. The full day professional learning topics will reference ASCA recognized materials, PDE Initiatives, local community efforts and district needs. Session Topics Include: 1. Maximizing Student Achievement: Placement, Intervention and Planning 2. Understanding Culturally Responsive Counseling: Diversity, Equity and Inclusion 3. Building Community Partnerships: Health Wellness and Workforce 4. Strengthening the Home and School Connection: Communicating with Compassion 5. Developing Plans for Success: Post-Secondary Transitions and Career Readiness 6. Supporting ASCA Model Mindsets: Professional Advocacy

QBS Safety Care ~ Initial Training

10/26/2020 – 10/27/2020This training requires demonstration of 18 verbal and physical competencies. Participants should come prepared and willing to demonstrate mastery of each competency. Safety Care Training is a two-full-day training that teaches the goals of safety management, interdisciplinary treatment, creates an understanding of challenging behavior, establishing a safe environment, practicing safety habits, delivering and differential reinforcement. Safety care training teaches incident minimization, de-escalation procedures, incident management (physical safety techniques) and post incident procedures.

10/30/2020This in-service is for POCs and other staff who work with your eQUIP eLearning programs. Each member district should send at least one person, but additional team members are welcome. We will spend time looking at best practices in eLearning, success stories, and practical tips to get the most out of the systems we all use on a daily basis. It is a time to meet up with like-minded professionals from surrounding districts, find solutions to problems, and develop a network that can be relied on throughout the school year.
This In-Service begins at 9:00 AM and ends at 12:00 PM. Registration begins at 8:45 AM.
