01/21/2020With the commitment of the state funds to promote the growth of equitable STEM opportunities for all students, we are again able to offer participation in ITC at no cost to districts. The Innovation & Technology Collaborative (ITC) is a network of educators and administrators interested in implementing 21st Century approaches to transform teaching and learning. Our Professional Learning Focus for 2019-20 will be: “Discovering the Truths of Innovation While Daring to Reach New Heights as Teacher Leaders” We suggest you read Brene Brown's book "Dare to Lead." New this year is a field trip to Delta School in State College!
District Commitment
- Identify at least 2-5 leaders of innovative practices to consistently participate in up to five meetings throughout the school year.
- Provide time for ITC participants to share resources with colleagues back in home district
- Administrative support for innovative practices

01/23/2020This training details the steps in establishing Tier One interventions in a School-Wide Positive Behavior Support System. The first day will include an overview of SWPBS, discussion of the Self Assessment Survey, establishing an Office Discipline Referral form, and establishing your building wide expectations. During day two teams will complete a building matrix, begin to write lesson plans to teach their expectations, and establish an acknowledgement system. On day three, teams will finalize their acknowledgement plan and clarify office vs. classroom based consequences, and establish procedures for discouraging inappropriate behavior. PARTICIPANTS SHOULD REGISTER AS A TEAM TO ATTEND FOR THE 2019-2020 SCHOOL YEAR. THE DATES ARE: 1/23/20, 2/24/20 & 3/19/20. Registration closes 1/16/20. Sign in begins at 8:00 AM

01/28/2020School based practice is challenging especially navigating the intersection were compliance, best practice, our training and free appropriate public education intersect. This session will include a fast paced review of psychometric data related to standardized assessments (e.g., reliability, validity, sensitivity, specificity, and the purpose of the test, scoring consideration) for Speech Language Pathology and an overview of comprehensive assessment to prevent over or under identification of speech language disabilities in the school settings. In addition to standardized assessments and comprehensive evaluation, the session will include discussion of IDEA/chapter 14 and root cause analysis of high caseloads. Outcomes: Participants will: 1. State the psychometric data needed to determine if a test is a valid measure for a particular student. 2. Identify tests that have limited or poor psychometric data. 3. State 4 parts of a comprehensive school based assessment 4. Discuss 3 potential causes for high caseloads as it relates to our practice. Sign in begins at 8:45 AM

The training details getting to know SWIS, using SWIS data for discipline decisions, SWIS data entry and reporting schedule, common navigation, logging into and out of SWIS, generating reports, tools, building fluency, and annual account activities. 01/31/2020CICO-SWIS provides school staff with an online space to enter CICO point card data easily and efficiently online. Data are summarized across five reports allowing teams to: 1. Monitor individual student progress: Three reports give teams a way to see 1. If each student is meeting his/her goals each day. 2. How each student is doing at each check-in period. 3. The overall impact of plan changes made throughout the course of the intervention. 4. The impact of the intervention on each student’s office discipline referral count. 2. Review the overall integrity and fidelity of the program: Targeted (Tier II) and Universal (Tier I) teams can review two graphs in CICO-SWIS to see: 1. Overall student progress in the targeted intervention. 2. Overall effectiveness of the CICO intervention in the school. Registration begins at 8:15 AM
