Spring Math Intervention Tool

09/05/2018As schools continue to look for avenues to best support students in mathematics, Spring Math offers their tools to help teachers and districts. The Math MTSS cohorts have utilized Spring Math in the past year, and will have the opportunity to do so again in 2018-2019, as an intervention tool for class-wide and individual student needs. We are very pleased to have Dr. Jen Collins and Mr. Jared Campbell, PATTAN MTSS, come to the IU to share about Spring Math and it’s various applications. Both Jen and Jared have been instrumental in supporting districts to move into a successful Multi-tiered System of Support (MTSS) process while helping teachers strengthen their core instruction, data interpretation, and intervention techniques. 09/20/2018This is an introductory workshop for teachers who have never used Get More Math in their classroom. We will begin with and in-depth demonstration of the program's most important features in conjunction with their application in a classroom. We will discuss best practices for successful implementation as well as common mistakes to avoid. Josh Britton, a math teacher from Lampeter-Strausburg High School, Created Get More Math while working in his classroom over the last 12 years. He developed the software to support initial mastery and long-term retention for grades 4 through Algebra I. (Geometry & Algebra 2 coming soon). It works! his students have averaged 40 points of growth on the Algebra I Keystone Exam, helping to place his high school 3rd out of 700 districts in 2015-2016. (Should you wish to continue with Get More Math! Part 2 will be held on December 13, 2018.)
