The Innovation & Technology Collaborative (ITC) is a network of educators and administrators interested in implementing 21st Century approaches to transform teaching and learning. 01/26/2020 | 01/27/2020 | 01/28/2020(1 event)9:00 am: Eligibility Requirements for Speech & Language Impairment 9:00 am - 3:00 pm BLaST IU 17 - Canton Office School based practice is challenging especially navigating the intersection were compliance, best practice, our training and free appropriate public education intersect. This session will include a fast paced review of psychometric data related to standardized assessments (e.g., reliability, validity, sensitivity, specificity, and the purpose of the test, scoring consideration) for Speech Language Pathology and an overview of comprehensive assessment to prevent over or under identification of speech language disabilities in the school settings. In addition to standardized assessments and comprehensive evaluation, the session will include discussion of IDEA/chapter 14 and root cause analysis of high caseloads. Outcomes: Participants will: 1. State the psychometric data needed to determine if a test is a valid measure for a particular student. 2. Identify tests that have limited or poor psychometric data. 3. State 4 parts of a comprehensive school based assessment 4. Discuss 3 potential causes for high caseloads as it relates to our practice.
