Attendees will learn how to set high expectations while being supportive. Opportunities be provided to practice how to provide direct feedback and how to ask questions that foster accountability. The most effective methods to resolve common conflicts will be presented. We devote the second day entirely to teaching attendees to facilitate restorative circles. Circles are an essential process for building social capital, resolving social problems and responding when harm occurs. Circles create a positive learning environment. Attendees will learn by participating in circles with other attendees and taking turns learning how to facilitate a circle. By the end of the day, staff will be prepared to return to their setting and run their first circle! Special Guest: Michelle Kindt Michelle Kindt is a National Board Certified French teacher at Hershey High School in Hershey, PA. Michelle has had years of experience teaching all levels of French in both the middle school and high school. In addition to state and local venues Michelle has had the privilege of presenting Comprehensible Input theories and strategies at national conferences, such as IFLT, NTPRS & ACTFL. She has worked with School Districts to develop curriculum and train teachers. She very much enjoys working with World Language teachers, encouraging them to teach for proficiency outcomes via acquisition-driven language instruction. Michelle also loves to read and travel.
