It is unique and nuanced. Learning to interpret and understand it; and, becoming able to communicate with it requires SPEAKING GRIEF. Join us - a gathering of educators - as we look at the complex lexicon of grief. Together we will unpack the intricacies of how children and youth speak grief in our classrooms and in our lives. We will focus on pragmatic tools, realistic scenarios, and active Q & A. We will discuss: What does grief look like? What events trigger the grief response? How are grief reactions different across developmental stages? What signs and symptoms might I be able to recognize? What responses seem to help? How might I find solutions to difficult situations? We suggest that all participants watch the PBS documentary Speaking Grief prior to attending, although that is not mandatory. You can find the documentary at the following link: https://speakinggrief.org/ Sign in: begins at 2:45 PM Cost: None ACT 48: 3 | 12/18/2020 | 12/19/2020 |
