In order to fully participate in this learning experience, all participants should bring a mobile device or laptop to the workshop and have the ability to download applications and programs onto your device. A screencast is a digital video and audio recording of what occurs on a presenter's computer screen, and it can be used to create sophisticated, information-rich multimedia presentations. Screencasting can be integrated across the curriculum and into a plethora of learning activities. Screencasts are an effective instructional format that can be used for tutorials, demonstrations, digital storytelling, and narrated PowerPoint presentations, integrating photos, media, and more. This workshop will be designed to educate and empower administrators in your district. All participants will receive an introduction to the SAMR model, understand how to apply the SAMR model in the district, understand how to use the SAMR model as a tool for discussion with educators, learn how screencasting can be used at each SAMR level, learn about various screencasting tools available for different devices, learn how others are "flipping" professional development in their building, learn the skills essential for screencasting, plan a screencast, and apply skills to create a screencast.
