Join a group of like-minded people from our region to discuss the DIBELS data collected by your school. Participants will be expected to bring their DIBELS Fall data and individual student books as we utilize a variety of resources to analyze the results and collaborate to gain greater insights. Resource sharing and school level team attendance is strongly encouraged. This session will be facilitated by certified DIBELS Mentor, Amy Breon. To register for this event, please visit www.elrnr.org. | 11/04/2014(1 event)9:00 am: VLINC Point of Contact In-Service 9:00 am - 3:00 pm 2400 Reach Road Williamsport, PA 17701 USA 570-323-8561 PoC's and staff supporting VLINC will cover a variety of topics around supporting VLINC students and their families. Topics include: 1. Demonstration and discussion of the Accelerate Education Elementary program. A representative from Accelerate Education will be on hand to review the current offerings and discuss their instructional model. 2. Group Work: Mapping best practices for supporting students and families at home. 3. VLINC staff will demonstrate the use of GENIUS to track student progress, attendance and grades. 4. VLINC staff will discuss the required steps to complete courses once students have finished their work. These procedures are required to finish all courses. 5. VLINC staff will demonstrate how to use the GENIUS auto email system to send student progress emails to students and families. 6. Group Work and Presentations: PoC's will present a variety of topics to the group for discussion. Topics will include planning for upcoming meetings, training needs, and the upcoming PAEEF Conference in March of 2015. Non-violent crisis intervention details the crisis development levels and an appropriate staff response to each one. Participants will learn verbal and physical de-escalation techniques to de-escalate a crisis situation and how to establish Therapeutic Rapport following a crisis situation. 8:30 am: SLO Building for Art Teachers 8:30 am - 3:30 pm 33 Springbrook Drive Canton, PA 17724 USA 570-673-6001 The Pennsylvania Department of Education strongly encourages educators to collaborate on the development of Student Learning Objectives (SLO). These sessions are designed to allow for teachers from specialty areas to collaborate on SLO development that are focused on the content standards from their particular areas. An IU facilitator will guide teachers in completing the SLO Template based on collegial conversations about specific content instructional areas and performance measures that are often germane to a few people within each district. All participants will need to have an introductory understanding of the SLO process as a prerequisite for this sessions. 10:00 am: Intruder Lockdown Training Videoconference 10:00 am - 12:00 pm 33 Springbrook Drive Canton, PA 17724 USA 570-673-6001 This is a basic course for employees provided by law enforcement which describes general practices for dealing with an active shooter and how to respond when an active shooter enters your vicinity. Included in the discussion will be a profile of an active shooter, how you should respond when law enforcement arrives on the scene, lessons learned from past and recent shooting incidents, and steps to consider when preparing for and managing an active shooter situation. The course will also include an update on current threat awareness and steps you can take to better prepare for and enhance your own personal safety. Students will be able to identify potential scenarios for using run, hide, or fight options if faced with an active shooter situation. Students will also have a better awareness of various threats they may potentially encounter and steps they can take to enhance their personal safety, both on and off the job. This 2-hour program will include: • How to prepare for and respond during an act of workplace violence or active shooter situation. This is valuable information you can use both on and off the job to stay safe if ever faced with an Active Shooter situation.
