09/11/2024 – 09/12/2024This opportunity is intended for K-12 Math Educators. Mathematics is a challenging subject for both students and teachers. Complex skills, multi-step procedures, and critical thinking is often overwhelming to our students, leading to a lack of engagement and achievement. This two in-person professional learning opportunity will implement Peter Liljedahl’s Building Thinking Classrooms in Mathematics (Grades K-12) strategies to discuss and explore both macro and micro moves focused on classroom environment, building a learning community, and designing motivating tasks for problem solving. Participants are required to attend both days. Participants will walk away with Thinking Classroom strategies that can be implemented immediately into their own classrooms.

CKLA Curriculum ExplorationCKLA Curriculum Exploration

09/12/2024Participants will have the opportunity to review and analyze critical content of the CKLA curriculum, looking for elements of explicit instruction, practice opportunities, and assessments. Teams will collaborate, discuss, and brainstorm possible solutions to problems of practice with CKLA implementation. *Attendees must be currently implementing or exploring Amplify's CKLA curriculum. Attendees may choose to attend all sessions or select the dates that work best.

09/17/2024LETRS addresses four critical outcomes for effective literacy instruction: understanding the science of reading, converting research to practice, enhancing teacher effectiveness, and transforming instruction. By understanding the “why” behind science and evidence-based research, educators can effectively know how to aid students in learning to read. With Bridge to Practice activities, educators implement the knowledge gained directly into their classrooms.

Volume 2 focuses specifically on oral language and vocabulary, understanding reading comprehension, text-driven comprehension instruction, and the reading-writing connection.
