04/26/2022Safety-Care for Families is a training program for parents, family members, foster parents, foster parents, and in-home support staff who provide support in a home or home-like environment to individuals who present behavioral challenges. By implementing effective prevention and intervention strategies, we can enhance the individual’s quality of care and life.
Essential Skills, Part 1: This session is designed to provide family members and others with a basic set of prevention skills for working with a person who exhibits challenging behavior. If the severity and frequency of the challenging behaviors are not extreme, then Safety-Care Essentials for Families may be sufficient to meet their needs.

By implementing effective prevention and intervention strategies, we can enhance the individual’s quality of care and life. Essential Skills, Part 2: The 2nd session is designed to provide family members and others with a basic set of management skills for working with a person who exhibits challenging behavior. Additional topics include de-escalation and creating a family safety plan. Note: No one may attend Part 2 without first attending Part 1.
