Functional Language: How can I meet all my students' needs?

You are invited to participate in a professional development day designed for both school district and Intermediate Unit speech therapists and regular/special education teachers. Our featured presenters are Dana Vermilya, speech-language pathologist & assistive technology consultant and Dr. Alison Polly, Supervisor of Autistic Support Services. Participants will gain a better understanding of all types of AAC, including core vocabulary; learn how to embed functional language to increase student participation in regular and special education classes; gain an understanding of how to implement AAC into ABA programs and when addressing behavior of students; and learn how to support curriculum & content while addressing all students' diverse communication needs. Participants will leave with knowledge and resources to begin supporting all students' communication needs in any educational environment!
