7~12 Civics Teachers Professional Learning Opportunity
Opportunity for 7th - 12th grade civics teachers to take part in a collaborative professional learning opportunity. PDE will provide updates on the following: the Civics Knowledge Test requirements and optional use of the U.S. Citizenship Test, The new Social Studies Curriculum framework, and Implementing Mathematics into Social Studies Instruction.
Afternoon collaboration time will be provided for teachers to network and create/refine resources related to the morning’s discussion topics.
Competencies: Participants will be able to:
__Understand the requirements for the 7-12 Civics Knowledge Test and provide background to LEA.
__Apply the new social studies curriculum framework to current LEA curriculum.
__Explore the opportunities related to mathematics and social studies cross-curricular application.
COST: $25 (Includes lunch, materials and ACT 48 processing)
