Teaching Deliberate Analysis
Teaching Deliberate Analysis is designed to provide a close read on Text-Dependent Analysis through an instructional lens, rather than a focus on assessment. This professional development offering will take the form of a train-the-trainer model for curriculum coordinators and teacher leaders (grades 3-8) who intended to conduct turn-around training in his/her school district. Participants will gain a deep understanding of the concept of instructional analysis with the tools necessary to help teachers engage in the teaching and learning of text-dependent analysis. The training consists of two face-to-face workshops with two follow-up virtual support sessions provided at no additional cost. Participants must register for both face-to-face sessions to attend. Training materials are research-based and created and shared by Dr. Jeri Thompson from the Center for Assessment in collaboration with the Pennsylvania Department of Education. Participants will need a computer/device for training sessions.
COST: $80 includes lunch, ACT 48 processing and materials.
