Indicator 13: Successful Practices in Secondary Transition
The Indicator 13: Successful Practices in Secondary Transition training is designed specifically for Special Education Teachers and Administrators who service students, age 14 or older, that are engaged in the Secondary Transition process. Participants will learn what constitutes an effective transition program and how to write an IEP that includes coordinated, measurable annual goals and transition services, thus enabling students to meet their post-secondary goals after graduation from High School. Participants will also be given tools which will allow them to critically review IEPs for compliance and effective Secondary Transition practices. Objectives Participants will be able to: - Describe what constitutes an effective transition program - Review IEPs for compliance and effective secondary transition practices Participants are asked to bring a current IEP for a student on their caseload, age 14 or older.
